Kalmar County Hospital lies in the south of County Kalmar and nicely overlooking the Baltic Sea, which means you are working and living in beautiful nature surroundings. The Hospital has all kinds of specialities and it’s a teaching hospital for both medicine and nurse students. With only the Ölands Bridge away you’ll find the popular island Öland with many beaches and idyllic places to visit.

What we offer
Do you want to lead the establishment of our new competence center in PET/CT?
You will be the key person who drives and implements the work ahead of the planned start in 2026, which will be established in a newly constructed building. Your duties include designing and deciding how this department will be functioning and work together with parties within the newly started competence center and you are involved in, among other things, the procurement of new equipment. As a part of your employment, you will have clinical duty within your specialist area, combined with being responsible for the establishment and introduction of PET/CT within Region Kalmar County.
Your organizational affiliation will be based on your basic specialty. The staff and this new department will be a collaboration between nuclear medicine, physiology, imaging and functional medicine, oncology, and radiology.
Kalmar County Hospital is a reasonably large and well-functioning hospital with good results and short decision-making processes. What we are looking for
We are looking for you with several years of clinical experience with PET/CT. You are a specialist doctor in your profession within, for example, nuclear medicine, physiology, imaging and functional medicine, radiology, or oncology.
You have a great interest and knowledge in the PET/CT area and want to develop clinical diagnostics. It is important that you have good planning skills, are driven and enthusiastic. You are a problem solver who sets high goals and works persistently to achieve them. Furthermore, you are good at collaborating, creating good relationships and ensuring that the competence, commitment, and participation of the employees in the organization are taken advantage of. We will have high expectations on your leadership and knowledge, and we expect you will have the same for us as an employer. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
We require:
Approved authorisation as a doctor from a EU/EEA country, English and Swedish language skills (at least B2 level)
Terms of employment
Before moving to Sweden you need to reach B2 level in the Swedish language. Your license as a doctor needs to be recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/en/licence-application/.
Your employment will start with an introduction period. We provide further language studies in Swedish to reach the C1 level. If the trial period will be proven satisfactory and you demonstrate required skills recognized by the County Council of Kalmar, it will automatically turn into a permanent employment.
All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary is set individually depending on your qualification and experience.
